When I was in Rome in 2005, it rained a lot. They say it was one of the rainiest Aprils that they have ever had. I had only ten days there and I was going to make the most of it no matter what the weather. This Gladiator was in the Piazza di Spagna in front of the famous Spanish Steps, Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti. There is a famous Bernini there, La Fontana della Barcaccia (Fountain of the Old Boat), that I have a picture of too. I believe it was not raining so hard on the day I took that. I'll put it on one day. It wasn't always easy to get pictures while juggling my bag and umbrella. The umbrellas here liven up this dreary picture with some pretty colors. I enjoy this picture just because of the gladiator walking around with his umbrella.
